The Media

Yesssssssssss! This blog is directed at you guys! Yes you! You know who you are! The Media! The columnist, reporters, and writers! This blog entry is for you guys! There are two divisions in the media, the people that report the truth and nothing more, and the people who report lies to justify a certain situation. I have respect for the members of the media who do their jobs and report the truth! But I can't stand the members of the media who report information and lies that are simply untrue. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody, but chances are if your reading this, then you know its directed at you.

Now I use to be the type of person that never had sympathy for individuals who accused the media of distorting their image. Now that I become a victim of cheap shots, propaganda, and the whole nine, I see that the media can make you or break you! But you have to stay true to yourself, because you know whats real and whats untrue!!! And that's all I can do, because I know whats going on, my family does, my coaches do, and anybody that really knows Donovan Edwards knows whats real and whats untrue!!!!!

In conclusion this whole situation is really hilarious to me! To see how media outlets will drag one student-athlete's name through the dirt, to make themselves and the people there reporting to feel better. Well if it makes you guys sleep better at night, hey I'll be the target, throw whatever cheap shots you want at me!

Oh yea check out this video! Chris Rock talks about the media and Blacks! Nothing relevant to my situation really, but i find it funny! Start at 5:10 in the video, otherwise watch the whole thing! It's hilarious!!!!!!!

WNBA FIGHT

Wow, WNBA players Candace Parker (Very Beautiful), and Lisa Lesile took part in a altercation this past weekend. First after viewing this video I was disgusted because this type of behavior can be expected from males when emotions run high, but from females?! This just makes athlete's look bad, especially those of African-American descent. Although most African-Americans don't partake in actions saw in this video, they are categorized with this group because most people don't judge others on a individual basis. But hey that's just my opinion, take a look at the video and formulate your own opinion!!!!!!!!!!

Roc-A-Fella Athlete's

Roc-A-Fella Records is just not a music label anymore, like Jay-Z said, Its a Dynasty! Many people in the entertainment and music industry are now down with Roc-A-Fella, but now there are prominent athletes in sports that have pledged there alliance to the ROC! Two well known athletes can be seen hanging out with Jay-Z or Memphis Bleek on any given day, but when there competing at there respective sporting events they still represent the ROC! These athlete's are Lebron James of The Cleveland Cavilers and Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs!

I haven't noticed to many College Football athletes throwing up the ROC, so in a attempt to be a innovator, this upcoming College Football Season you will see ME, DONOVAN EDWARDS, throwing up the ROC after my team scores a touchdown........... That's if I'm on the field at the time! So yea check out these pics and hopefully some photographer will catch me throwing up the ROC this season! Chea it's the ROC!!!!!!!!!!!

Favorite Gameday Speech

Nothing gets a sports team more excited then hearing there coach give a game day speech! These speeches usually occur before the game or at halftime. Coaches go about giving game day speeches in completely different manners, depending on the coaches personality. Some go about it in a quiet manner, while some choose to yell at the top of their lungs! Personally I like my Head Coach (Mike Darr) at Diablo Valley College Game Day Speeches, because he's not constantly yelling at the top of his lungs or talking in a quiet manner. He mixes it up, which is the perfect combination for a game day speech and it always gets me ready to play! Check out Al Pacino's Game Day Speech in the Motion Picture, Any Given Sunday!!!!!!!! This is one of my favorite movies too!!!!!!!!!!
